- What's the difference between CAT6 and CAT6A?
- CAT6 supports gigabit Ethernet over the full 100-meter run and 10 gigabit over shorter distances (up to about 55 meters). CAT6A is thicker, better shielded, and supports full 10 gigabit over the entire 100-meter run. CAT6A is typically used for high-bandwidth workstations, servers, or when you want extra headroom.
- How long does a CAT6 installation take?
- It depends on the number of drops, ceiling type, and building access. A small office of 10-20 drops is often a one to two day install; larger buildouts or multi-floor jobs are quoted individually after a walk-through.
- Do you certify the cabling after installation?
- Yes. Every run is tested and, when requested, certified with a cable tester to confirm performance meets CAT6 specifications.
- Can you run CAT6 in an existing occupied office?
- Yes. We regularly install drops in occupied offices, coordinating around business hours and using existing pathways and drop ceilings to minimize disruption.
- Do you install the data jacks and patch panels too?
- Yes. We terminate both ends — wall jacks in the workspace and patch panels or keystones in the server room or IDF closet.
